Hello,
I have tried to enter the frequencies for the KSP Post 10 (harlan).
Post 10 - Harlan
453.2750
453.3000
453.6000
453.8500
453.7375
453.7750
460.0250
460.0625
460.0750
460.2375
460.2875
460.3250
460.3375
460.3625
460.3875
460.4250
460.4375
460.5625
Well the problem is I'm not really getting a lot of transmission. Occasionally I will get a voice on one of the channels. Usually though I get a bunch of beeping when scanning and it lasts for about 7 seconds or so. Is the KSP trunked? Can anyone help me set this up? I am using a Pro-97. I have read all th dummy manuals and this whole forum and still can not get this to work. I am currently on Vacation in a small town and can use the traditional frequencies, but when I get home I need to be able to understand trunked because the whole city is trunked (Lexington). Can anyone help me set up the KSP first though.. I would greatly appreciate it.

The KSP uses Digital voice in conventional mode. The pro-97 will not work. What you are hearing is the undecoded digital voice You will need a digital scanner such as the pro-96/2096, the new GRE PSR-500 or one of the Unidens.

I believe LPD is using conventional freq's. The Trunked system in the County is an EDACS system using analog voice, you will be able to hear all that fine :) Just make sure you program the LCN's in order and when programming the scanner, start with channel 01 not 00. IE: if using bank 0 you would put the first freq. in slot 001, not 000.

So I should be able to hear everyone except KSP? I appreciate the fast response. Can anyone validate that you can listen to the Lexington PD's frequencies with just a regular Pro-97 scanner? Can you further explain "Just make sure you program the LCN's in order and when programming the scanner, start with channel 01 not 00"? I would like to have one of those digital scanners, but for a college student $500 dollars is a large investment.
Thank you!

With a PRO 97 you'll be able to monitor Lexington TRS AND Lexington PD.... The Lexington TRS is an EDACS system which means the frequencies must be entered in logical channel order beginning with channel ONE instead of channel ZERO (which is the first channel in the bank of a PRO 97).... spend an extra bit of money and get the programming software and a programming cable and you will save yourself untold frustration and headache with programing the radio.... check your PMs.
