During DV mode reception, I noticed an "L" flashes from time to time in the lower right, outside of the box. Sometimes the "L" hangs below the bottom line of the DR window and other times, it is even with the From field.

I've tried finding this in the manual, but searching for a single character borders on the ridiculous. Thoughts?

Is it reminding you that you are linked to a reflector?

Hmm, maybe so; that's a good guess. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of local DStar traffic, so I cannot test.

It's strange that it moves on the display too.

Appears to note packet loss, if location 25 is where you are seeing it pop up.

I'm seeing in the advanced manual about EMR/BRK/A, no mention of packet loss, but I would guess it is the same icon same place, chapter 11

Also, page 12-22

I would say its either packet loss or corrupted packet interpreted as loss.

Thought I'd share a capture of it. Notice the "L" is not hanging below the bottom line of the box. Many times it is, which I'm not sure makes any difference.

Yea, sounds like a packet loss of some kind. Are you able to see the BER on the repeater at all? Just wondering how that aligns with the losses on your receive.

I'll have to see if there's a way to do that on the 9700. I have no other access to the repeater.
