Lake County MARCS

Ok so i want to Program MARCS into my scanner, i live in lake county and im not sure what to put in. do i put the tower frequencys for lake, geauga, cuyahoga and ashtubula into my scanner? And then what DEC's can i put in for that. I would like to get some of the med choppers in there along with OSP and whatever else is cool that i would be able to pick up. Which med choppers fly in that area? For you in Lake or surrounding countys what can you pick up and is it worth programming it in?

You can put the control channels or the sites in either way. If you want certian things on certain banks just lock. or close them. If you want to get everything leave them in open mode+................Hoser

Hi Tfitz,

What type of scanner do you have? The best thing to do is to purchase a programming application for your particular scanner. if it is GRE/Radio Shack, Don Starr's WINxx line is awesome and Butel has their applications as well.

I own both GRE (I use Winxx) and Uniden (I use Butel) and they are both great for the particular scanner.

Then spend the few bucks to become a Premium Subscriber here at RR and then the rest is easy.

Once you let us know what type of rig you have and if you do or don't have the programming software for that scanner we can start from there.

ive got a 396t and no software... i just program it using the keypad. Is there an actuall advantage to having programming software?

Having the software makes it a snap to program, plus you can store different files on your computer and reconfigure your scanners program in just a minute or two. Plus the added advantage of being a member here you can download from the database and create files for different areas of your state another state. Hoser

where can i get these programs at and roughly how much do they cost.... i couldent find a page on unidens site where i can download programming info... that or i just wasnt looking in the right places. if somebody could point mein the right direction *cough*cough* hoser *cough* and help me out that would be great. MARCS is already in the 396. I think it's bank 48, in the preloaded stuff. I haven't really studied the talkgroups enough to know if they are all correct, But it should get you started. Hopefully you haven't cleared them.
