I'll be heading west in a few weeks for a little skiing and R&R and will be staying in south lake tahoe. I'll be taking my 396 and VX7r along and will be carrying the VX7 on the slopes and trails. I'm looking for active emergency, ski patrol, SAR, and emergency related ham repeater frequencies to load and monitor. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jon

for the ham side:
narcc.org has a great listing of ham repeaters all over the place in the state of fruits and nuts. best one by far.

i don't know anything about SAR or ski patrol though.

post in the meet up thread when you're available. maybe we can all meet ya if you have time!

Thanks for the feedback. I guess that source is pretty official. I'll be sure to program this stuff along with the usual FRS/GMRS freqs and other local ham repeaters.

The old SAR portable's that use to operate on 155.1600 & the Ski patrol freqs (155.175-155.340) Are they obsolete nowadays?

Well, I would guess if he had a 396 with him he would use close call at the Ski Patrol shed for a little while until he snagged the frequencies.

I'm not sure I'll be carrying the 396 with me on the slopes, probably the VX7 or THF6. From what I gather so far from just poking around on the web, the ski patrol freqs should be one of the common rescue freqs so I'll put them all in the radio. The ones listed above plus the other common ones like 155.16 etc. That, along with GMRS/FRS and the basic business vhf itenerant freqs, should cover about anything.
