There was a LAPD Hot Shots feed running - maybe a year ago, but it seemed to only pick up some of Broadcasts. Depending on conditions I can get the Oat Mnt. Hotshots rebroadcasts from South OC, but infrequently. This is a great channel to get the pulse of the city. Is there LA Brodcastify feeds that include Hotshots?

Shinkley,

I didn't see a Hot Shot feed, but you probably already knew that. Have you tried 484.7125 (listed in the database as the originating Hot Shot channel) or 484.400 (listed as a rebroadcast from Rolling Hills above San Pedro). I can pick both of them up clearly from the northern end of the San Fernando Valley. May be worth a shot...no pun intended.

There used to be one and it was the go to for me at least listening in from out of state. Then it disappeared. I always assumed that it got pulled maybe as it’s not a “dedicated dispatch channel” and was viewed as a TAC. Of course I could be wrong given it’s an assumption.

Funny this should come up. I was testing a new receiver the other day, dialed up Oat, where I expected to hear a lot of P25 and instead got a whole bunch of silence.

I’ve listened on and off between projects the last couple of days, now, and have not heard a peep from Oat -

Interesting - I’m not in a great spot for Oat, up in North county behind the hills, but there was always enough signal to use for testing. Still hearing other UHF boxes on Oat, so they must have put a reflector up. Thanks.

I'm hearing Oat traffic just fine in Northern Orange County

A couple years ago I noticed that I could no longer receive Oat Hotshots from Santa Clarita.

I'm curious why does LAPD need two hotshot frequencies ? Does Mt. Lee not cover the entire City of LA?

There are actually three:

484.7125 Mt. Lee
484.3500 Oat Mountain
484.4000 San Pedro Hill

I assume Oat and San Pedro cover fringe areas in the north and south ends of the city, and/or areas directly underneath Mt. Lee that experience a shadow effect.

Perhaps you could purchase a scanner, an appropriate computer, and any needed accessories. Place it in a friends home, and stream! (y)
