hi everyone, ive never owned a handheld scanner but as i visit raf bases to film planes im going to buy one, ive seen a number of people using this model https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HQCU...TF8&colid=21G734JWS92HO&coliid=I1CLS3Q3XB5WV5 Uniden UBC-125XLT but thats been on sale since 2010 , so are their newer models ?
what frequencies will i need for civil and military planes ( range ill need) ?
and do these scanners auto search for broadcasts ? i dont want to have to keep searching for right frequency when im at a base ( ill be too busy operating camcorder etc !! )

ps will i need anything else eg spare battery, battery charger ?
