LED Alert Light

Hello,
I have a Uniden BCD536HP Scanner that Is in my room that stays on 24/7 due to me hosting a feed. My question is, If I program the scanner for the LED light around the Push/Func button to light up when certain talk groups come on, will continue to do is if the display is off? I don't want the led lighting up at night when I'm trying to sleep.

If by "display is off" you mean the back light is turned off on the display screen, then the answer is yes, the lighted ring around the push knob will come on.

yes that is what I meant. Is there a way to turn that off when i turn the display off, or is it just going to light up everytime that talk group is active all the time?

I have a Radio Shack Pro-107 with an LED and what I do is just throw a sock over it when I retire for the night.

You would have to disable the alert in your channels. (or use the sock method - thick black recommended)

You can't toggle it on/off, you have to disable it in each talkgroup ID or frequency.

Unless you are an extremely light sleeper, it's not that bright that it would wake you.
