Lee county-Tupelo

Cannot moniter Lee county-Tupelo trunked system. I have it programed using the controll channels.

All I get, sounds like "squelch". No voice, or anything! This may be what some, call "motorboating".

Anyone else have this problem and, or have a solution. This is with the 996T and the BCT15.

Did you program it by hand or use software? If software, which program?

Also, according to the database (Lee County MS Public Safety Trunking System, Tupelo, Mississippi - Scanner Frequencies), it appears the Lee County system has been rebanded. Assure that your scanners have the latest firmware.

As far as correctly programming the control channels, I'm not sure exactly how to do that as I'm trying to figure how myself since Memphis is currently rebanding.

I'm hearing it fine on my Pro-106. Have you been hearing it and it suddenly stopped, or are you trying to get it programmed for the first time?

I have programed it by "hand". Yes, the Lee county-Tupelo system has been rebanded and I have those frequencies programed in.

To the best of my knowledge, I was hearing it fine untill rebanding, and I believe the problem started after rebanding.

I can hear the Lee county LTR system (integrated communications) just fine

Do you have the latest firmware updates? If not, that might be the problem. Otherwise, not sure, as it is coming in fine here.

Also, how do you like your 996T overall? I thought about getting one, but at the time I didn't want to wait on shipping, so I bought the Pro106 instead. I love the 106, but would like a mobile, especially one of the 996T or 996XT's.

The 996t is a really good scanner, but if one doesn't need digital, the BCT 15 would do just fine, at a much lower price!

Did you enter all of this information into a custom band plan for the system? I had some problems with the custom band plan at first, but quickly realized it was because FreeScan was not uploading all of this data to my 346XT.

When I'm over that way or there's some really good ducting going on, I have no problems monitoring the system with three different scanners; other than a few talkgroups seem to have changed during rebanding.
