There's an awesome topic on color schemes.
So I figured I would create one for boot opening screens.

To Change Opening Graphic Boot Screen For The SDSX00 Scanners
Can be a any color image but changed to...

* SDS100 the Image must be 240 x 320 Must be a 24 bit bitmap

* SDS200 the Image must be 480 x 320 Must be a 24 bit bitmap

* Has to be the correct size
* Change the extension/file to .bmp file
* Rename the file to opening
* Rename the extension to .bmp
*
Placed that file into the Scanner's SD card, in the BCDx36HP Folder.

VERY IMPORTANT that the file is labeled as "opening.bmp" (without quotes)

To change back to the original opening just delete the file you put in the folder and restart the scanner.

The above can be done with windows paint.

Note: It will not let me attach my file to this post. (.bmp)
But I have attached it as a .jpg
This is my opening screen

Just for clarity, you can't just rename any graphics file to .bmp for it to work, it has to be opened in a graphics editor program and converted to (or "saved as") a .bmp file.

Complete info posted at this link a while ago:

Reminds me of being amazed by changing the Win9X boot splash screens back in the day by adding the bitmap as a .sys file in the c drive. Those were a bit more limited though color wise and resolution wise. I also seem to remember doing it during the entire Ubuntu Spinning Cube and Fiery Screen Minimizing Compiz days.

I made a QUICK SAMPLE boot screen just to see what it will look like and it came out perfect. I took a picture of it as radio was booting. I might try to get creative and make another one.

Hi All!

I love it! I put a logo and phone numbers on my SDS100. It was easy to do, works well! Thank you WX9RLT for the info! If it ever gets lost there is now a better chance it will get returned.

That's the main reason why I changed my opening screen.
Easier to identify, if it is stolen.

Plus it looks really nice, for an opening screen

Look forward to seeing yours and others :)

That OS2 Warp screen is pretty cool. Back in the day I was sure Warp was going to beat Windows and it should have. It was a far better OS. That or BeOS. I still like running those in virtual machines.

I am commenting on this because I would like to make one. For photo editing, I use one that rivals Photoshop, without the ridiculous price..

So, I use Affinity software. I can do everything that is here, but is the file inside the Uniden file you open in a computer? I can export in almost any format with this software.

Of course, the first Icon for me would be a Motorhead Ace of Spades, LOL.

There is no specific file on the scanner, in any Uniden file, or in Sentinel that you “open” to start with. Either use an existing graphic that you already have and alter it according to the instructions, or make one from scratch.

The image must then be placed in the BCDx36HP Folder on the scanner's SD card (same location as the profile.cfg and other files).

See complete instructions here:
