What year did they stop issuing CB callsigns/licenses?
I have never heard of a CB license plate.
If there was such a thing they obviously weren't issued by the FCC.
We of course have amateur radio license plates in Pennsylvania, several different variations over the years. If the whole family is in the car, anybody can just look you up and pretty much assume your house is empty LOL, bad idea.
50 + years as a ham I have never seen or even heard of any state dept. of licensing issuing CB license plates. Just ham plates since about forever!
Maybe you could get one on a vanity license plate in some states. I am also retired after 30 years with Seattle Parking Enforcement. That is 30 years of looking at license plates all day long. I saw a lot of out of state ham plates but never even once have I seen a CB radio plate with a callsign on it of any kind.
I had California Press Photographer plates from about 1971-2004. Still have them on the garage wall. In later years, they were more of an advertisement that you had expensive gear in the vehicle. After having press plates for about 40 years, a total of four different sets as they were a front and back plate in Pennsylvania, the only passenger car front and back plate available other than official government plates. Eventually we stopped using them because instead of letting you access they sent you to a holding area 2 miles away from where the public was allowed. LOL.

Probably a moot point after all these years, but was the final database at the F.C.C. ever saved, and available for public viewing?
Probably like the WPE#___ database the SWLs had which was lost to time.
Where's the "Wayback Machine" when you need it?![]()
