Licking County on MARCS?

Lately I noticed its been quiet on most of the conventional freqs for Licking County. I read in the Newark Advocate recently that Licking County has made, or is in the process of transitioning over to MARCS, but many fire chiefs were against it.

and noticed many public safety agencies on it. Have they transitioned over already?? What are those about?

They have been on MARCS-IP for several months (at least the SO ) I rarely monitor Licking Fire/EMS. Many posts about it.

I did a search for "Licking County" and couldnt find the answer to my question(s).

They are on Ohio MARCS-IP.

Scroll down through the sites - Licking County has 6 sites.

Scroll down farther to the Licking County section for talk groups.

Some fire departments may not have changed over yet.

Yep I have heard NFD,NPD, County Fire, LCSO on MARCS, maybe the IP, I have both programed in. Mind you I am now in Canal Winchester and only hear the LCSO, but when I do travel back, I hear the rest.

The are definitely on the IP system. I can receive the Pataskala site with 4 bars in Grove City but it is mostly LCSO. I was in Newark a couple weeks ago and it sounds real clear.

Licking County SO (including Pataskala PD), Newark PD and fire, and Granville, St. Alban's Township, Monroe Township, and Hartford fire are all using MARCS-IP. When you hear a fire run dispatched to "45 EMS" or "Ops 1/2/3," that means that department is using MARCS-IP. The other law enforcement agencies dispatched by the 911 center (Hebron, Buckeye Lake, etc.) are still on 155.415.

Granville PD is working on switching sometime soon. I thought West Licking fire was going to be using it too, but they're still using their VHF repeater.
