LInes across screen while scanning - BCD996XT

HI all, just brought a Uniden BCD996XT was running fine but ive powered it up this afternoon and now as it scans has vertical lines running across the screen with the print on the screen. been thru the settings re uploaded the profile i had and no luck. anyone struck this before?

Yep, they all seem to do this. Cheap LCD display along with the cheap speaker and audio amplifier.

Just try to read the display in a vehicle when its 30 degrees F outside or colder. You will have to wait 10 minutes for the LCD to get warm.

Last month I bought a new 996XT and the same problem happened within a couple of days. Uniden service said they had to fix it and it would take several weeks. I returned it to Scanner Master and they replaced it with another new one. No problems so far with the replacement!

HI all, yeah tried the contrast thing and no luck. i was thinking of doing a hard reset on it and re loading my profile. i had a look at the wiki list but nothing really works for the XT. any suggestions. thanks for your replies so far.

does not sound good...send it in for repair thats what i would do

I would send it back to where you bought it and request a new one. I wouldn't want to keep a scanner that has had to be repaired so soon.
