Applauding town's response to Sandy
I think the people of Little Ferry owe all the first responders of our town a very well-deserved thank-you.
On Oct. 29, as superstorm Sandy roared through our town, the Hook and Ladder Hose Company, ambulance corps, police and DPW had our backs.
Because we had no power, the only means of information we had was our battery-operated police scanner. As we listened, like in the old days when all that people had were radios, we were astonished. It seemed to be non-stop, one call after another — a tree down here, a wire smoking there, a utility pole knocked over and people trapped in their home unable to get out.
