Topcop has just started his part time live feed of Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield Fire and EMS. Here are the directions to tune in:

Listeners need to download and install this easy to use program and then log into the IBN server to connect to the live feed (more on all of this below). In addition there are also other live feeds on the IBN server that you can also try if you'd like, all live, and all FREE. There's even a CHAT feature that lets you message other listeners while you listen, to discuss the action. How cool is that?

Now, that all said, here's what you need to do to listen to the feed:

(We suggest you print these instructions for convenience & future reference)

1) Go to http://www.goteamspeak.com/downloads.php and download the Team Speak Client program.

2) Double click the downloaded file to install the player.

3) Once installed, start the program

4) Click on 'CONNECTION' on the main menu bar

5) Click on 'QUICK CONNECT'

6) Enter www.incidentbroadcast.com:8767 as the Server Address

7) Enter a name as your Nickname (can be any name, this name will show to other listeners on the site)

8) Leave both the Login Name & Password BLANK

9) Click the 'CONNECT' button

10) Once you connect a voice will say "Link Engaged"

11) Once connected, the VERY FIRST thing you need to do is click on 'SELF' on the menu bar

12) Then choose 'Register with Server'

13) Enter your Nickname in the 'Login Name' box'

14) Enter your Password in the 'Password' box

15) Enter your Password again in the 'Password Check' box (be careful of typos!)

16) Click the 'Register' button

17) Click on 'CONNECTION' on the main menu bar

18) Click on 'DISCONNECT' (do NOT close Team Speak)

19) Click on 'CONNECTION' on the main menu bar

20) This time click on 'CONNECT' (NOT Quick Connect), which you will use from now on to log on.

21) RIGHT click inside the large white window on the left of the 'Local Address book' tab.

22) Click on 'Add Server'

23) Enter IBN Live Scanner Feeds and then press the ENTER key.

24) Now, fill in all of the rest of the information and select the options

24.a) Change Default Channel to VA - Richmond Area Fire/EMS

25) Click the 'CONNECT' button

26) Once you connect a voice will say "Link Engaged", and a list of Channels will appear in the left panel

27) Scroll down the list and find VA - Richmond Area Fire/EMS

28) DOUBLE-click on this listing

29) You are now listening to the LIVE feed of the City of Richmond, Counties of Henrico and Chesterfields Fire/EMS Traffic and hearing all of the action!!

30) Once connected, read the info page (top right window) for more details, & don't forget about the chat feature.

31) ENJOY, and tell your friends! (please refer them to this page for the instructions)

32) Remember! Use the CONNECT option for logging on from now on, NOT the Quick Connect Option.

that is mostly true for richmond and chesterfield. henrico dispatches on one tac, and the entitre operation (big or small) weather it is EMS or fire related is on another tac. actully most EMS ops have one tac, tac-4, and fire uses most of the rest.

Just to add a little clarification to then Henrico tac issue.

Tac 4 - medical incidents including non-interstate MVA's
Tac 5 - single company fire calls
Tac 6-13 - multi-company fire calls & interstate MVA's

The way it's set up, you can have multiple incidents on both Tacs 4 & 5, but 6-13 will normally only have one incident each on them. (The night of Gaston, every tac had at least three incidents on it, but with any luck, that won't happen again for another 500 years. <grin>).
