Does anyone know if Logan has moved off 453.9000. Use to get them l/c in Waltham havent heard them in a few days or more. I know all talk groups were not linked to that freq but it was enough to get some info. Thank you

I don't think it has anything to do with the impending POTUS visit to the Vineyard, as he and his entourage will be coming nowhere near Boston or Logan. Perhaps it might have more to do with the patch to the MSP Zone 5 MASSPORT 9744 talkgroup.

The frequency is for Interop with local agencies(PD/FD/EMS), it would defeat the purpose, considering Massport Fire has almost nothing to do with the mobile protection detail when the President is in town.

My guess to the OP is that there hasn't been anything that would need that particular talkgroup. I know it's in my portable, but I rarely hear activity on it, and I'm in Brighton when I'm working.

Massport has had more activity on the MSP Massport TG since the Saugus Fire, seems it's been patched ever since.

Just because it's Marine 1, doesn't mean that it's the only helicopter they have.

The activity on 453.900 varies widely, it can be patched into any one of a number of Logan talkgroups including Fire Dispatch, Fire Operations and Massport Ops. It had been patched to Fire Operations for a long time but that ended a few weeks ago. There have also been long periods of silence is the past, which is what seems to be going on now.

Fire Operations has been patched to the MASSPORT 9744 talkgroup on the state TRS recently.

MassPort FD is being heard regularly again on 453.90. Dispatches are not heard - but response and fireground traffic is heard.
