Hey all,
I'm trying to locate a good antenna to boost the receive strength of my Baofeng UV82HP. I'm currently using the antenna it came with, which simply isn't picking anything up.
I've looked into the Nagoya antennas, and ended up buying a fake not knowing better. As far as my radio knowledge, its decent. I'm trying to increase the capabilities on frequency 155.7600. At home I use a simple Uniden BC355N scanner to listen to dispatch, because the pager doesn't trip because it can't pick up anything. On that I use a 3 foot telescoping antenna and it picks up dispatch clear. If possible I'd like to keep the antenna I run on the Baofeng under 10". Transmit strength on the Baofeng is great, receive isn't so great.
Is there any other options besides the Nagoya NA-771 antenna that could help with the receive?
