Looking for Center Frequencies

I will be traveling primarily Interstate 81 South from Mechanicsburg, PA into Tennessee. I would like to monitor the center frequencies while enroute. Is there someway to find out what frequencies an aircraft flying the same route would be handed off to along the route? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping someone had a source where I could find geographically where the individual sectors are located. I had checked out the RR Database but it doesn't give any info to where the sectors are located. I know their names gives clues but I'm not familiar with the area that well.

Also try this site, the webmaster keeps the sector frequencies pretty much up to date. On the upper left corner, click on: Aviation-then-Aviation monitoring-then-ARTCC centers.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing here but I'll give it a shot.

I have frequencies programmed into my scanner for the Albany, NY area. When the ARTCC frequencies come in, it is only the aircraft talking to the center but NOT the center talking to the aircraft.

Is there any way to listen to what the center is saying to the aircraft or am I just too far away from the center to hear these transmissions? Are they on a separate frequency than what the aircraft uses to talk to the center?

If you are in close proximity to an ARTCCs RCO (Remote communications outlet) you will hear the controllers directly, if not, don't worry because the aircraft repeat what the controllers say anyway.

There are also lists on here that list a general location of sites, near towns, mountains etc.

I have one more ARTCC frequency chart besides the two Bucko & I gave you earlier: Military Comms Monitoring. HF VHF UHF just click on ARTCC Center Freqs. on the left side of the home page so now you have three ARTCC charts to work with. You will be traveling through the following ARTCCs on I-81 (KZNY) New York Center, (KZDC) Washington Center, & (KZTL) Atlanta Center, this is presuming that your trip ends where I-81 ends in Jefferson County Tennessee & not further west toward (KZME) Memphis Center. I included a town & city finder website that covers each state you will be traveling through so you can match any locations on the list that match the specific ARTCC RCO charts locations. Good luck.

I understand that there are lists that contain names that sometimes give clues as to where the transmitter is located. I was hoping to get a little more specific, such as coordinates or something. That way I would be able to narrow down a little better how my reception is based on where the transmitter I am hearing is located. Thanks again for all of your help and comments on this.

RCO's do not service ARTCC's. That would be an RCAG.

Outlets are also given different names according to the type of facility they serve. If an outlet serves an AFSS/FSS, it is called a RCO. If an outlet serves a terminal facility (control tower or approach control ), it is called a Remote Transmitter/Receiver (RTR). If an outlet serves an Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), it is called a Remote Communications Air/Ground (RCAG) facility. GCOs can serve any type of facility, in fact they often serve two facilities simultaneously according to the number of clicks keyed on the microphone.
