• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

That's a pretty thin description, but I suspect you were listening to MWARA stations. The links for that, and more, are here (anything in blue is a link...)

HF Aeronautical Communications - The RadioReference Wiki

Don't tune so fast. Take your time - and understand a bit about how propagation is affecting you. You'll quickly learn what freqs might be active vs. ones that are likely to be closed to your location.

best regards...Mike

San Francisco Radio uses 8843 kHz USB. You can also hear them on 5547, 5574, 6673, 10057, 11282 and 13354 in the Central East Pacific. They are all used in a daily basis and will have excellent signals into Oxnard.

In the North Pacific I've noticed San Francisco using 8951 and 5628 recently.
