• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am writing a requisition and I am looking for the current APX CPS Version Number (and part number if you have it handy). NOT LOOKING FOR ACTUAL SOFTWARE.

Yes, it looks like the current version is R22.00.03. They list RVN5224BA, RVN5306N as the part numbers (not sure of the exact distinction though).

The version number changes frequently. I would suggest, if possible, to specify "or latest version" in any procurement documents. That way you don't get all the way through an approval just to find they replaced it with a newer version and technically can't meet the requirement any longer.

And the correct part numbers are as follows:

HKVN4289A - APX CPS Download (Current Version)
HKVN4621A - APX CPS with Radio Management (Current Version)

I'm seeing the .05 revision now but its part numbers are different from what MOL lists (I tried looking through MyView but am not seeing anything). Not doubting you, it can be frustrating getting accurate information from Motorola!

The two part #'s that I listed are the "permanent" part numbers for ordering whatever the latest release happens to be.

It's very straightforward ordering CPS, simply go to shop.motorolasolutions.com and search for APX CPS. Done.

That works, I usually don't deal with that side of things and was still used to just using MOL.

Yall are way above me. I'm still running 21.00.01 but to be fair, it's a large RM upgrade I'm just not in the mood to complete right now

Yup, fooled again by MOL/MyView.

EDIT Just tried downloading 23.00.01 from MyView, and the zip file is corrupt. Unreal.
I downloaded the RM Package version since we use RM..... My download went fast and came thru ok. But that was also yesterday.

At this point I think MOL is running on borrowed time.... Wish MyView and the scattered disjointed replacements was as easy to navigate as MOL. Lots of new stuff but there isn't one point of "start here" and you can navigate to everything you want.

Yeah that's what I did, grabbed the RM Suite and extracted CPS from that zip. MyView has potential, but in typical MSI fashion they made it much more complicated than it needed to be. I feel the same about the new shop.motorolasolutions.com, very hit or miss.

Gents-

I've read this forum and I've searched the part numbers mentioned above and I'm unable to find the link so I can purchase the software. I've googled it as well. Does anyone know if they've changed the part numbers? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I've got an account set up and I'm not finding it.

Thanks!!
