Looking for the best scanner out now

I am in the market for another scanner. I am looking for the new latest greates that I can purchase today. I know there ane newer ones going to be out in the first quarter 2014 but I can't wait till then. Locaiton is not as relavant as being packed with features (even though I might never use them). I am looking for a portable and base station. Thanks in advance for your help

The Uniden 396XT and 996XT are probably as good as you will find....until the new Unidens hit the market. If you can lay your hands on either the Radio Shack pro-106 or the GRE PRS 800 they are worth a look as well. Uniden is still selling their scanners. There are lots of sources out there. ScannerMaster offers exceptional service.
