Or just clink on the link that Bill supplied.

If he is not familiar with the database then he needs to know how to access from his home page, not just follow a link that has been provided for this one question. It is hard to believe that someone with 1100 post doesn't know what the database is, but we shouldn't assume that he does know how to access it.

For the original poster (OP), it is expected that someone explore the database prior to asking a question in a forum. That is what the database is for, to answer most questions.

No smugness at all
over the many years Jake has been here, we [myself and many others] have regularly directed him to the RRDB [Radio Reference Data Base],
yet ....... and have even provided the link [Click on it] to make it easier from either the Wiki [Library] or the DB [Data Base]

Now if the info wasn't there, that is a different story
They are speechless Jake. Maybe the smugness level will go down a little now!

At the time I wrote this I hadn't read Jake's signature line until the time to edit my post had just passed by a couple of minutes. Sorry Jake, I would have written this post just a bit differently if I had noticed those lines. I hope I did not offend you as a result. I'm not too far behind you now, I'm one of those rare cases where the effects of PTSD have led to cognitive decline. I understand the struggle. I've yet to figure out how to use all the features of my Uniden BCD-325P2 and it's been over a year that I've had it.

Thanks to those who have sent me private messages to fill me in on how to help here, if that is possible for me.

Were you able to look up the frequencies used in L.A. County? Those pages in the database are very lengthy as this county is the most populous in the U.S., somewhere around 10 million people. It's getting more complex with the regional system just starting to be built. This hobby is getting more complex as well. I'm glad I don't live in a big city anymore or I might be overwhelmed with it all.

LA County Fire which protects the unincorporated areas and also provides fire and EMS to some cities uses a combination of UHF and VHF channels. LA City Fire uses a 800 analog non trunked system. LA County Sheriff uses analog UHF channels. LAPD uses a digital non trunked UHF channels. There are some cities in the county that still have their own PD’s and FD’s that use a digital UHF system called ICI, Interagency Communications Interoperability. So there is a big mix of radio systems for Los Angeles city and county. I hope this helps.
