• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I currently have version 1.13.17. I see there is a 3/15 announcement regarding firmware upgrades, version 2, and ESN and ESN Checksum. I'm having a hard time figuring all this out. What is ESN and checksum? Do I need to do something before I can get the latest firmware? This used to be easy to upgrade, but now I just can't follow all the steps. Can someone clarify how I can get the new firmware?

That version isn't released yet, so you don't need to worry about it for a week or so. You have the latest current version of the firmware. Apparently you will need to download a new firmware loader utility and the firmware when it's released, but I expect that instructions will be released at that time.
