I am getting complaints for low feed volume. My scanner is turned up almost full blast and the input on the sound card mixer is at 100%. If I unplug the cord from scanners external speaker the scanner is F'n LOUD!

I am not sure what else to do.

I would check the cable first? Do you have another input you can try? Scanner volume shouldn't ever be towards 100%. Depending on scanner type, 50% is more typical.

Are you streaming with a 396XT or 396T by any chance? I can hear a clicking sound at end of transmission that could be a DC component riding on the audio. Those scanners will do that solved by using an isolation transformer to block the DC.

Possible solution

I had similar problems, it's almost impossible to setup the audio out of the soundcard/motherboard.
On a hunch I attached a USB Stereo Audio Adapter and resolved all my problems.
Just use the Mic input.
Set the scanner volume to a minimum to reduce noise. (Do some testing.)

You can listen to my feed, and hear how it sounds.

I purchased it from this website, but I am sure you can find it anywhere.
