Low TX audio

I just purchased a Yaesu VX 177 HT and have received several comments regarding my low TX audio. Any special setting or shall I sent it back? Any input regarding this issue would be appreciated. The radio otherwise works great.

The factory waterproof speaker mic makes a world of difference. I know it's around $50 but I love it and folks I know who bought one love it too. The VX-170 and VX-177 share the same complaints sometimes because of the waterproof membranes inside of the radios. Your radio is most likely not defective.
