Does security use their LTR system or Nextels? (I don't see it in the DB). I am going to be there tomorrow and want to find out if there is anything else I need to program other than whats listed in the database. As always, I'll be sure to log talkgroups and share whatever I find. Thanks.

Follow up on the Luxor: They are now using a Kenwood NEXEDGE system and cannot be monitored on a scanner. All of the freqs listed in the database were active and 462.1375 appeared to be a data channel. I overheard some comms from one of their NX-200 (?) radios and it had that distinct digital sound to it. It will be interesting to see if the other MGM Mirage owned hotels move to this technology.

Very interesting...thanks for the update. Are you sure it is NEXEDGE, and not MOTOTRBO? (Although if you saw that they had NX-200 portables, then I guess it is NEXEDGE.)

I looked at the license for 462.1375, and there has been no change to it to indicate digital.

Well, at least NXDN for digital voice but probably NEXEDGE trunking since it appears to be a control channel on 462.1375. Here is a recording that sounds exactly like what I heard: http://www.kb9ukd.com/digital/nxdn_raw_625.mp3 ... Hopefully somebody that lives in the area can confirm if 462.1375 continues to be active. It was for the 2 days I was there.
Now we just need scanners manufacturers to enable this... I'm not holding my breath though :)

Is that a recording of a control channel, or of a raw digital voice channel?

I don't think we'll see these digital formats in scanners anytime soon either. Even if they do make it into a scanner, there's the problem of possible encryption...

Hi Dave
That is the raw digital voice. Luxor's sounded just like this sample.

Hi pachanga,

Thanks for the confirmation on the Luxor. Do you know of any other casinos that are using/will be using NEXEDGE?
