M-PA flashes? And what's this combination? PAHTAW

I just picked up an absolutely perfect M-PA, combination PAHTAW. It was used in a
test fixture and still has the protective film on the display window. It's 100 percent perfect,
an absolute museum piece.

I'm not even sure what band it works on. Can anyone decipher that combination and
tell me, please?

It also seems to have a specialized flash in it. I can't tell what it is, but the buttons and
knobs are inoperative. I can't even transmit on it to see what frequency comes up.

I think I have a programming cable for it but it's at home and I'm not there.

I could use a "standard" flash for it, in any event. One that supports EDACS, or at least
that will if it's an 800 MHz radio.

Hold down the blue side button while you turn the power on and let me know what shows on the display. What's the FCC ID? That could help. I could not find a reference to that entire combo number

It's VHF, that's enough for me to know as of right now.

I'll swap its RF deck out for an 800 and reflash it if needed. I have a customer who'd drool
over a perfect 800 MHz M-PA system model like this one.

I'd drool over a mint MPA System radio as well. Very rugged radio. I love them! See the attached PDF.

Your flash type is 10 so no digital voice or encryption. You have a 06 microprocessor revision so it has the 081 board. That's good. So you would need to reflash it with the VER_10ZZ.BPD file

There is only one odd thing about this radio: It's on when it's got power to the terminals whether the battery (or test block) is switched on or not. I suspect a jumper across the
switched terminals has been installed.

I'll take a look.


This radio might be available. I've got VHF 7100IPs already, and around here, VHF is
of so little use to me it's not even funny anyway. VHF radios get little use from me.
