• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I've been monitoring limited activity on the Madison County CNYICC system with TGID 7445. The references include "Channel 4", "Washington Ave", "Unit 202 to Base" and short communications between users and the "Chief". The limited amount of transmissions leads me to believe these are firemen. Is this another Fire-Tac channel?

Correct on 7119, OIN C-C. 7435 I have in my scanner as Hamilton FD, 7444 as North Chittenango FD, 7453 is County Fire TAC and I’m not sure about 7479, other than it’s a shared. Morrisville FD is 7440. 7479 might be one of the rescue to ambulance channels, but it’s not in my scan list.

Other FD talkgroups I have programmed to scan are 7429 (Cazenovia FD), 7441 (Munnsville FD), & 7446 (Smithfield FD). I know there’s more and I used to have a list, but darned if I can remember what I did with it. Hardly ever hear much on these TGs, but occasionally you’ll catch something. Hopefully this helps.

Andy- Thanks to your help, here is what we have that isn't listed in the RR database. I am still not sure what to label talkgroup 7479. The discussion that I recorded was about the lack of ambulance support. So maybe you are right about a rescue/ambulance channel? I will continue monitoring the unknown TGs to see what else we can piece together. Have you considered submitting these updates the RR?

Feel free to submit them. I haven’t looked at the CNYICC page for Madison Talkgroups in a very long time.

Here is another talk group I discovered. This TG was also added to the RadioReference database queue.
7452 Madison County Fire TAC 6

I’m not sure if it’s tied to the conventional TAC 6. I’m willing to bet it is because others like EMS OPS 1 are both a TG and a conventional channel.

That means that 7453 was TAC 7. Wasn’t sure which one that was... 6 or 7, but that solves that.

I'm not hearing anything useful on 7453 to add to validate our assumptions. I will continue to track this one. This leaves us with:

7450 TAC5 <-verified
7452 TAC6 <-verified
7453 TAC7

I did record a few short transmissions yesterday on 7430. This is sounds like another fire department, but I can't discern who it belongs to.

TG 7479 is believed to be "Urgent" Fire. I know there is a channel labeled "URGENT" and I heard Fire Control this morning calling Morrisville Fire on "Urgent" Fire.
