Elko PD, Carlin PD, Eureka and Elko SO's and NHP have been searching all last night and today for a car jacker in the Carlin and Elko areas. The car he most recently took was located about 10 miles north of the UNR Fire Academy. All mines and ranches in the area are on alert. NHP TG 10-004 has some search-related traffic. It sounds like the authorities are calling it quits. The NHP Air unit is returning to Reno and all othe NHP, SO and City units are starting to demobilize. They have a name and photo for the suspect, so I expect he will be apprehended sometime.
