Manual on win500

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but I have just spent two hours doing the trial versions of Win500, psredit500 and Arc500. I had the choices down to Win500 and Psredit500. I think I want to go with Win500 but please correct me if I'm wrong. When I went to the help tab I was directed to go to RR but most of the help on this program is several years old. Wondering what the best source is for help on this program. Don't get me wrong I have the basics but would like to get into the more advanced features. I ordered a ws1065 and just testing out the different software options for the radio. My last radio was a bcd396xlt. I know the 1065 is not a phase 2 radio but wanted to try something different from a uniden scanner. I have been out of the scanning hobby for a while and just getting back into it so I'm sorry if my questions sound a bit naive. Thanks.

I am biased towards WIN500 but I've used Starr Software for generations of scanners.

I use all the WINXXX programs and I find the best "manual for the software" is to understand the scanner you are programming. There are few topics that apply to the software that don't apply to the scanner, and for those, there are tons of places here to find the info. Don't let the fact that everything is "old" fool you, how old is the scanner? Same age.

I've posted a question re the Win500 manual in the Utah forum - hopefully it will come back soon, or someone has a backup copy of the page and images that we can put in our wiki. It would be a major blow if this guide were to disappear. Mike
