I just purchased the BC895XLT and cannot understand instruction manual. It says press manual to stop scanning, press the frequency, then press manual again, but does not register the frequency. This is the manual... is there anything I am missing? When I press the "E" is says "E-lock", but no frequency in display... confusing.......

That is a great question for the Uniden Forum, as it isn't general scanning question. Please do not start a new thread, simply click on report and ask mods to move it, as double posting isn't allowed in the forums.

Check the e-lock switch on the back of the scanner.

1. Set the switch labeled ENTER LOCK on the rear panel of your scanner to the ON position.
2. When lock is set, the e and U keys are disabled. If these keys are pressed, an error message flashes for two seconds, and your scanner resets.
3. To return to normal operation, set the switch to the OFF position.

this is the e-lock thing

Thank you, but can you specify "channel", as in BANK? It is the terminology that is confusing??

i, ahhhh, don't have that radio.
i am just translating what i read.
there are 300 channels in 10 banks.
so it does go from 1 to 300 numbered channels.
so ch 1 to 30 is in bank A
30 to 60 is in bank B
and the banks are toggled on or off by hitting the number keys
i did/have programmed many old radios.
