Anyone know how to decipher the what looks to be the manufacturer date codes-on the SDS-100 batteries?

I would guess mine a October 2021 and July 2018

I bought a new battery from the distributor in EU, Avera in 2021, as there where a shortage av batteries from retailers and it says 2018K. It was 3 years old when I got it. I hope it wont swell any time soon.

The old battery had a 2019G date and the cell inside was stamped 09/18, so the cell was stored a year on the shelf until it was used in a Uniden battery. Or do the battery date just say when the warranty expires from the factory or the date are set to the future to not worry users that they got a too old battery, like the one I received?

/Ubbe-Good point. The components used to build a battery are expected to be older than the final assembled product… but how old should they be, or how reliable (safe) might we expect a cell manufactured in 2018 to be in a pack that was assembled in 2021?
