Being new and having trouble programing the MARCS 700 into my PRO106.
I don't know alot about programing.
After watching a viedo I was able to program the 866-868 freq into my PRO106.
From time to time I do get tone from MARCS 769 to 774.
I understand that Lake & Geauga Co. are up and running.
Can anyone help or walk me threw the 700 programing without going threw Wiki?
Thanks
Lyn

I don't know what you mean by the 700 series numbers.
According to the DB:
Geauga Co. has 2 sites, 052 and 053, and Lake Co. has 1, 054.
Neither of these counties are using MARCS.
Below are the MARCS sites for your area from the database. Make sure you enter all the control channels (frequencies followed by a letter).
Also remember that MARCS is not a digital system. It is a Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink system that uses digital voice. If you set it up as a digital APCO 25 it won't work.

6F0F 052 Chesterland (Geauga)
866.62500 867.03750a 867.23750 867.35000c 868.43750

6F0F 053 Chardon (Geauga)
855.01250 867.18750a 867.48750a 867.88750c

6F0F 054 Wickliffe (Lake)
866.92500 867.26250 867.57500a 868.03750c 868.76250a

I hope this was some help to you. Enjoy

Your probably referring to the 700 MHz MARCS system undergoing construction around Cuyahoga County:

Ohio MARCS - Multi-Agency Radio Communications P25 Trunking System, Cleveland, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

This system has no users yet & is currently on hold pending a resolution of interference from Canada. I wouldn't worry about programming it in your scanner right now, just check this forum for updates as it comes online. Control channels & system frequencies are subject to change as the vendor works out the problems.

If you haven't already purchased the PC cable & software for your PRO-106, I would highly recommend that you invest in these to make programming your PRO106 a breeze. I use Win500 & it works great.

Win500: PSR-500, PSR-600, PRO-106, PRO-197, PSR-310, PSR-410 Scanner Software for Data Management, Monitoring, and Control

Program these frequencies as conventional channels. All the VRE frequencies are very low power (1 watt or less) so you would have to be close to a user with an active VRE to hear anything.

M = Mobile frequency, licensed for handheld or vehicle mounted radios

Other codes used here include B = Base frequency or R = Repeater. These are sometimes combined, i.e BM is a frequency licensed for both base & mobile radios or RM for a repeater & mobile license.

VRE = Vehicular repeater extender, a low power transmitter & receiver installed in a vehicle used to extend coverage from the vehicle mounted radio to a portable radio nearby. The Pyramid SVR-200 is one of the VREs used on MARCS, another is the Futurecom DVRS.

FM = Frequency modulation, listed in the mode column in the database to indicate this frequency uses analog FM transmissions. Other modes include P25 - digital voice, AM - amplitude modulation normally found in the aviation bands and NFM - narrow FM, analog FM with a reduced bandwidth.
