• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Does anyone know (fer shure) if the default MARCS system in the Uniden scanner is up to date (more or less)?

Is there any point to scanning the whole thing since I normally seem to only hear three control channels - Beachwood, Chesterland, and Shalersville.? I'm hearing a lot as I set up a seperate MARCS system in addition to the default Ohio MARCS.

I'm sure it is rather dated as there have been many new sites added since that scanner came out. I doubt if they keep updating what is in the radio before they are shipped. I would only monitor the sites you can receive.
