Copied some traffic on MARCS over the weekend. Tech's and help desk working on the Auglaize and Mercer towers. For the most part they were tryin to work around some reported local dead area's in the system. There was also some interesting talk made about setting up a 700mhz talkaround channels and the licensing. Wasn't able to catch all the traffic.

Anyone have any MARCS radio's running 700 mhz freq in there home area at this time?

In Cuyahoga County the heights & hillcrest area FD's are using 700 MHz simplex for fireground & vehicular repeater use. I don't have specific frequency information.

That sounds like it may be the solution here also. For now SMFD has suspended Fire ops on MARCS and went back to the VHF radio's due to problems getting out of hospital and other buildings and basements.

They should look into getting mobile repeaters.

There was a discussion on the NEO scanner Yahoo group back in April of 2009 about some convental freqs in the Hill Crest area.
This was right after a plane crash in Mayfield Village.

The crews from Hillcrest Fire (MARCS 36896) mentioned to go to channel 2.
They ended up on MARCS 19424.
>

19424 is Hillcrest FG-2. The other fireground (FG) channels are conventional:

FG-3 - 867.5125
FG-5 - 773.33125
FG-ALT - 854.0125

Also keep the usual ITAC/ICALL frequencies in your scan list since all the
Hillcrest radios have them programmed.
