Messing around on my 396 while working today, doing a CC search from 866-868 I found a new P25 system.

The control Channel freq. is: 868.9000
I noticed something interesting, while the CC is idle it says dat next to 868.9000

The site ID is: 01D4h-0101

Could it be??? Marions new digital system?

OK I am positive it is Marion County. On ID1004 a male addressed the dispatcher as "Marion."

Yee Haw!!! I love P25, my scanner picked up the conventional Marion not that well....

OK, 100% without a doubt its Marion County. I have heard EMS, and Sheriff. No other groups yet. Man this is exciting, discovering a system!

Congratulations!

I remember when my local PD went from conventional analog to conventional P25. It was a little strange to hear the same officers in P25 mode as opposed to analog, but at least I was able to hear them.

I have found by running both the Conv. and the new Trunked, the systems are simulcasted on both. In other words, EMS dispatch is going out on the conventional freq, as well as the P25 Talk Group.

I heard from one of the guys that works for MCFR, that they are issuing all of the Firefighters personal radios. I don't know how they can afford to do that, and he doesn't either. It's just what he heard. We'll see if that actually happens. Aren't P25 Motorola radios like $1000+?

I understand that radios like the Motorola XTS 5000 are closer to $4000 each.

Yep, That's the one. I think there was a BP or some sort of gas station right in front of the road leading back to it. I had no clue that's where the gators stayed, but I can see why!

1002- MCSO Ch. 2

Marion Co freq correction

Hello to Radio Reference friends,

I live in Central Florida, but not close enough to receive this new system.

I tried to monitor this system while flying over Marion County on Tuesday. I programmed all 20 of the freqs posted on rr.com, but could not find a control channel. I did find P-25 transmissions, using a BC-250D and a BC-785D.

Wednesday, I studied the FCC database for this system, WQDH497, and found that 868.625 in the RR database is not licensed to Marion County. And 868.65 is licensed for this system, but not listed in the RR database. It's possible that 868.65 was the control channel that day.

Can anyone advise if the control channel is 3600 baud or 9600 baud?

thanks for any help you can provide.

MCSO and APCO 25

I have Marion programed in my BC796D.
I only get a few of the MCSO, I don't get the teletype and a few others. I haven't seen any new talk groups come across yet. I use ARC250PRO and monitor this to a log file.
1001- MCSO Ch 1
1002- MCSO Ch. 2
1003- MCSO Ch. 3
1004- MCSO Ch. 4
1005- MCSO Ch. 5
1006- MCSO TAC 1
1020- MCSO Court
1100- MC EMS Dispatch
1202- MC Fire Dispatch

Does any one know if Dunnellon PD will be going to the new system? I know the Fire Dept. will be and some already have, but with the cost of these new radios being about 4K each they aren't too free with them.

OK, you confirmed my suspicion. I didnt want to post a ficticious TG, but TGID 1010 is Dunellon. The dispatcher always refers to hereself as "Dunellon". Gotta be it. :)

Sorry to be a thread hog, but from what I have heard (Read: Listened to on my 396T), TGID 1005 is teletype.
