Morning,

I have three Uniden BC235XLT handheld scanners. I want to program them for as much Marion County, Ind. frequencies as possible. If possible, I'd also like to add as many donut counties as possible. I think Marion County is a P25 system... I use scanners daily, however I have never programmed one. Can anyone advise the best method, preferably free. I think there's a program I can download onto a PC and push the database onto the scanner. Is that correct?

I'm sorry if there's already a thread created like this. I did a quick search... but did not find one.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

The BC235XLT is not compatible with the systems that you want to monitor.

Well, that stinks. Might as well chuck them in the trash!
Thanks for your help.

In order to hear IDPS(Marion County Fire and EMS) you will need to buy a digital handheld scanner. Also to monitor the counties outside Marion you can use the same digital scanner to monitor safe-t.Fire departments are still using the vhf fire freqs for paging only. You will hear the run going out but you will not hear the trucks telling dispatch that they are ok on the run.
