It appears a new 700MHz P25 system has gone online in Marshalltown this past week. Right now it is just patching the Tech Ops group from EDACS. I'll post more info as it appears. It is running in Phase 2 mode.

Current system info:
CC: 769.29375
WACN: 9249A
NID: 06A

Site: 0x0A
NAC: 0x0A

Working channels:
770.04375
770.79375
771.61875
772.44375
773.16875
774.16875
774.91875

Don't post things when tired, here is the correct system info (can an admin edit the original post?)

WACN: 9249A
NID: 0x6A
NAC: 0x6A

RFSS: 0x10
Site: 0x10

This system matches the Polk County (CIRPSCS) system except for the RFSS/Site.

I've added this to the CIRPSCS system listing to make it available to others in the area. It's very unusual that they would be using the same frequencies as the Polk County site with a different RFSS and site number, in a county basically adjacent to Polk County. Any other information you can provide to flesh things out would be very helpful.

I wonder if they are just piggy-backing off of the Polk County license to get this system on the air, I don't see any pending FCC apps. I would venture a guess that these systems will be networked together at some point and will be the replacement "RACOM Network" that is currently on EDACS.

It's a tossup how to organize this. If it turns into the wide-area networked system then they should be combined and reclassified to the RACOM network. It might be better to leave them separate for now to save on confusion.

The Polk County system is still just running on the single site in Windsor Heights, but it SHOULD be expanding to the whole county via simulcast any day now.

Adam, thanks for posting this. I still live here, can't believe I missed this. Just got a 436hp about 6 weeks ago. I will plug these in and see what I get. Unencrypted I assume? Mike

I can verify the CC freq. and site ID. Heard two techs talking on it last night. It is phase II. Mike

Right now it appears to still be running an automated coverage/quality check. There is a system transmitting random phrases every few seconds for a few minutes then stops. I doubt the system stays in its current configuration permanently, it will probably change frequencies again at the least when they finally get the application put in.

I've been tracking the system since i noticed it and while its advertising phase 2 support, I have only seen 2 calls that weer actually in phase 2 mode.

Been hearing the phrases also. Some of them are pretty funny! Like you I have only seen one P2 call. Keeping my eye on it though. Thanks again for posting the info! Mike

More new developments:

This 700Mhz system was NOT the new Marshall County site, it is the rest of the Polk County Simulcast system being tested before deployment. (expect that soon) Today it is back off the air.

The 800MHz system is back online and running however:
856.5625
857.5625
858.5625
859.5625

WACN: 9249A
NID: 0x6A
NAC: 0x6A

RFSS: 0x199
Site: 0x199

Haven't seen anything passing thru the EDACS-P25 gateway yet but if it goes back to the config a couple weeks ago it will be passing anything seen on the Marshalltown EDACS System C site.
