Martin and Bunert Low flying Helicopter

Was driving down Bunert southbound from 12 Mile in Warren.

At around 11:15 AM Eastern time.

A low flying helicopter , IT WAS ABOUT 40 TO 50 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND flying northbound on Bunert towards 12 Mile. It was a white helicopter with blue trim all around the cabin. And right now there is a lot of Encrypted Traffic in the 163.0000 - 174.0000 Mhz band. Something government related. Looks like they were looking for someone.

( Don't worry I am not trying to understand and or decrypt the encrypted stuff )

And hearing something that sounds like data on 168.7625, 173.3625 and 173.2625 FM or digital?

Man what is going on?

Okay Update.

The aircraft was white with blue trim around the cabin and it was un-marked.

A lot of traffic on Detroit FBI Ops Frequencies.

Not that I could see. Or hear for that matter. Tons and Tons of FBI and other VHF Fed traffic today, I have never heard that much in my life before. I did hear the Macomb County Sherrif Helo talk to Troy and tell them they were in the area, I would think though that the Sherriff Helo would be marked though. Maybe it was D.E.A?? . . . . . . Or for all I know it could have been CTU and Jack Bauer could have been in there.

Hey freqs I was wondering when you were going to pop in here. It was white like that and unmarked on the side like that but there was one or two blue stripes all around the aircraft not just going from the back down like that. By the way what is that a picture of anyway?

That was from a news article about a Detroit news chopper that had a on board fire .I live on Carol and I see one like the one you are talking about in the mornings flying over the freeway

Hello all,
I saw that helo yesterday also. It's a powerline patrol helo. I was west bound on 10 Mile around 1pm when I saw him flying really low south bound following the power lines along the train tracks east of Mound Rd. The N number is on the bottom of the helo, N320CM.

I heard him talking to Detroit City tower today, he was on the west side of Detroit, & then headed downriver. Did you happen to notice if it had like antenna's or outriggers sticking out of the sides of the helo? I only saw him from the side, & couldn't tell if it had the outriggers.

Think I saw this same helo a couple years ago when I was working at 17 Mile & Van Dyke. He was following the power lines also that day. He made a couple extra passes over the 17 Mile bridge. Must've found a problem spot around there.

Last year I was in Swanton OH (West of Toledo) watching trains when a MD500 helo was flying low along the tracks following the power lines also.

Ahh was it all white with a blue line along the outside of the cabin? And I was not able to see the underneath of the helo.I also did not see if there were antennas or anything coming out of the side What freq for Detroit Tower?

City tower freq is 121.3 . Last time I seen N320CM it was white and green. For power line patrols they usually have a thermal camera that looks like a small TV camera you would see on news bird.

Starting to get Warmer. It definitely looked like the 1st or second picture. It was for sure not the third picture. If anything I would say it looked very similar to the second picture going down ( N60ea ) Who uses that Helo?

Im not sure it was parked off the ramp at Grosse Ile airport two years ago. Now the FAA database says registration pending. Applicant Spray Copters LLC.

Very nice, do you have any pictures of the Detroit Metro Traffic helos. I have been dying to see what they look like, I listen to them all of the time.

N2BQ Detroit metro traffic copter heard on WJR 760 am.(not my pic) It is the same helo in the pic at the top the thread with new paint.

N36CC All 3 news channels use the same aircraft. (not my pic)

Both helos are based at OaklandTroy airport.
