We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Anyone know of frequencies for monitoring of the local news media radio communications in the New Orleans area? Mainly interested in how the local stations inform their outside reporters of breaking incidents for WWL, WDSU, WGNO, Times Picayune, etc.

In general I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for. Studio/remote communications are either for setup of the remote or actual remote feeds. The rest is going to be handled on a cell phone.

Every TV reporter I work with has a work-issued smartphone, and half the time we just exchange e-mails rather than make calls.

Correct today it is through cell phone now u can listen to WWL Radio at 450.45000.
I stumbled across this frequency a few years back. Never understood it that well. Is this a studio to transmitter link? I've noticed that it wasn't always active though. Might have to give it a listen this weekend.
