Hi,
I am wondering what frequency or "channel" is used to coordinate landing a medical helicopter in nevada. I work as a firefighter in CA and here we use CALCORD. I am looking for the Nevada equivalent. I am putting together an emergency plan for an upcoming desert camping trip.

Thank you
JG

When we request a helo, the helo usually is switched over to the TAC channel we are using. I am with LVFR and can only speak for how it works for us. CCFD is probably very similar if not the same.

Unless you have a usage agreement within the State of Nevada for authorized Nevada frequencies, you may not use any public safety channels. Each area and county in Nevada has their own protocols for frequency usage. CALCORD is not authorized in Nevada it conflicts with other users.

What area are you interested in for monitoring (certainly NOT using)?

Just South of the Nevada border, in Mohave County, AZ, V-Fire 21 (154.280) simplex is often used for inbound medical helicopters to coordinate with ground personnel on an incident.

They are using
155.3400 WQWG213 CSQ NEVCORD 1 Primary
155.3475 WQWG213 CSQ NEVCORD 2 Secondary
And i have heard ground units coordinate with medical helicopters and this is statewide

Also the CAL-CORD Freq 156.0750 MHz is being used for input to NDF repeaters in western nevada. I dont have an answer for the use of that freq so close to border with california.
