RE Compost fire

WFAA, Ch 8, had about a minute of video on their 5:30pm newscast. Didn't see it on their website yet. May show up a little later. The wind is not going to help at all.

Nothing yet on the websites for 4, 5, or 11, but just took a quick glance through.

KXII Ch. 12 out of Sherman is on scene, Coptor-8 was above it. DHS has sent Red Cross, Mckinney & Blueridge of lost fire equiptment on this. 2 Firefighters were transported for burns to Dallas. Now they are requesting Lights, Gasoline and manpower as well as additional water supplies. Every fire agency in Collin Co. has sent resources, Grayson, Hunt, Fannin & Denton Counties have send some form of resource or are backing up fire stations. Forest Service Dozers are on scene. This hasn't gone to mop up this is still a out-of-control fire.

2192-Melissa has Fireground primary with a North sector a south sector and a staging area. 912 CC Fire Main is hammered with 9400's requesting everything including a case of copenhagen, Air filters, Oil, Gasoline & Drinking water.

Plano has their PIO now dealing with Media, and since this is Plano's property, Plano EOC is hopping too.

Fire Commanders are expecting to be working this well into the night, With only limited water tankers and water supplies, Actual Fire can be seen from 121.

9401 just stated to Collin Co. that the State of Texas Regional aid coordinator is present and that all personnel in the county have been made aware of this incident.

Individual fire op's can be monitored on Blueridge-144, Fairview-208, Celina-976, Branch-304, Prosper-1008, Westminster, Anna, Farmersville-240, Princeton, Fire Marshal-848 and Collin Co. fire ops 912.

Just In, Collin Co. 9401 says fire is close to containment, close enough to start cutting some fire departments loose from the incident. Leonard has returned from fill-in at Westminster. Trenton was to fill-in at Blueridge but now is being relieved. Westminster is being relieved as is Anna. Anna was the First mutual aid department for Melissa when the battle started at about 2:30pm.

The large portion of the fire is contained to a wood pile 30 feet deep and 40 feet high. Anna fire just stated the entire town of Anna is a haze of smoke and is now answering smoke investigation calls on 911.

Finally, This entire operation is being handed over to Plano Fire Dept. as this compose dump is owned by the City of Plano, and technically their Responsibility.
