Just got an email from Main Trading Company (MTC) about their Memorial Day Sale. Prices show in cart, and there’s free shipping on orders over $100 with no sales tax:

Just got an email from Main Trading Company (MTC) about their Memorial Day Sale. Prices show in cart, and there’s free shipping on orders over $100 with no sales tax...

Apparently their collecting of sales tax policy has changed. Previously they only collected sales tax if the order was shipping to their home state of Texas. Recently (05-18-2025) RR member red37129 reported sales tax being collected by MTC to his state of Tennessee.

I believe these online stores are now required to collect sales tax if they exceed a certain total $$$ amount of sales to a particular state. If total sales shipped to your state do not meet that threshold, you would not have any sales tax collected. YMMV
