Memorial Services For Sheriff Duane Lowe​

Memorial Services have been planned for Sheriff Duane Lowe for Monday, December 11, 2006, at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, located at 11427 Fair Oaks Boulevard in Fair Oaks. Sheriff Lowe served as the 31st Sheriff of Sacramento County from 1971 to 1983; he was appointed as Chief of the California State Police until their merger with the California Highway Patrol. Duane Lowe retired as a Deputy Chief of the California Highway Patrol in 1996.
The general public is invited to attend the 10:00 a.m. services. The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department along with the California Highway Patrol, Folsom Police Department, Citrus Heights Police Department, Rancho Cordova Police Department and Elk Grove Police Department will be coordinating a comprehensive traffic plan to reduce vehicle congestion.
The memorial procession will depart from Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church at approximately 11:30 a.m., and travel to the Sheriff’s Academy at 1000 Riverwalk Way in Carmichael for a dedication ceremony.
The following is the route of the procession from Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church:
  • South on Fair Oaks Blvd
  • West on Sunset Avenue
  • South on San Juan Avenue
  • West on Winding Way
  • South on Garfield Avenue
  • West on Fair Oaks Blvd
  • South on Jacob Lane
  • East on American River Drive
  • South on Sandbar Circle
  • South on Riverwalk Way
It is expected that the entire procession will last approximately forty-five minutes.
Citizens who live or travel in the area of the procession route should expect traffic delays and seek alternative routes.
