Meriden 800 system question - Meriden Fire

Does anyone know whether Meriden Fire Dept will become part of the 800 MHz system?
It seems that with only a handful of 800 MHz channels and the fact that it's digital would
be prohibitive for fd use.
In the Tait promotional video, Frank Kiernan mentions that fire may be integrated into the
Tait system at some point.
Also, what kind of radios does Meriden fire operate? I assume it's not Tait.

thanks for the infor, been scaning theair waves ,since1955

wow dhp, I've been scanning since the 70's at least pd and fd. you have got me beat. although I will say, I too did use a "tuner" early in the day to listen to some stuff. it was a challenge but it did work. now, sorry to be off topic in the beginning, I'd hate to see Meriden Fire change as they've been on VHF for as long as I can remember, except for some low band stuff I remember too. I'd hate to see them go 800. but if they had the coverage, fine. but digital? nope that has no where in the fire department especially fire ground. but that's just my opinion

Ova here
I don't think you will see the FD go anytime soon to 800MHZ since they and everyone else around them are on the 150 MHZ band and do quite a bit of mutual aid with each other.
