• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

14-021, -022, and -024 fall in the DSP's Special Events talkgroups range (which runs from 14-021 thru -027). Any particulars that could narrow it down a bit? Are you thinking it might be a simulcast of someone elses traffic?

175,

I just came back from the w2lie.net forums and it's been reported over there that...

14-021 is now Kings Park Police,
14-022 is now Lake Success Police, and
14-024 is now Port Washington Police

The timing of this move was around the rebanding of the Nassau County 800 MHz EDACS. Based on the transitory history of the Metro21 talkgroups involved, I'm wonding if this is a permanent change for the agencies involved or not.

14-023 is Sands Point PD. I reported this in the forum sometime ago, but I was on vacation until recently. Apparently this maybe a permanent change as I heard units reporting dead spots etc. to their HQ and then being recorded in a log apparently to let the radio techs know.

I was guessing that it was a village PD either in Nassau or Westchester. It would be curious to see if they are still on the county edacs system.
