It seems like the Metronet TG on DTRS hasn't been active lately; anyone else notice this?
Checked the usual radio, it seems to be ok on other groups.

Metro Net on the DTR side is hit and miss. The Mead site appears to be one of the few that has it consistently.

For those interested I would recommend monitoring the Metro Net TG via Aurora, Denver PS or Westy EDACS systems on TG 1697 (13-041 for AFS fans) for uninterrupted access.

Glendale, lookout, squaw, Arapahoe admin; It just seems like it has been dead for the last few weeks.
I am very close to glendale, but of course there is not a lot of outlying traffic on there, mostly englewood, etc.

I like to listen to it on the digital side because it sounds so crappy on the EDACS unless it is just analog groups talking, then it is great. Listening to the State or Jeffco thru Denver is pretty bad--

I finally got some new EDACS radios so I will see if it is any better when I get them going.

Phil's right - it's hit and miss on DTRS. It sounds crappy on EDACS unless an EDACS agency is using it but it's up about all of the time on Denver PS and Aurora.

I bet maybe they changed the site affiliations for it or something. I have a dedicated pro-96 on it 24-7, but I will listen on an EDACS system & see whats cookin. I think Mead is too far away from me.

Up until a couple days ago, I had been picking up MetroNET on the Mesa Point tower in Delta County regularly for a couple of weeks or so. Not sure how that was going on.

That's kinda weird, I always assumed it was just for console to console comms. Maybe it is interconnected to agencies not over the air but thru the infrastructure (IP, T1, or microwave)
I noticed that the LID that shows up on all EDACS systems in the metro area is the same when that TG is active. 7150 if I remember right.

Just as I am typing it came up on Denver, and sure enough not on DTRS, so I know it has been changed somehow.
update: I can get it on castle rock (Silver heights) very weak poor decoding from my location.

7150 will show up on Denver's system for METRO NET but it should be 16383 on all the other EDACS systems.

METRO NET acts like any other TG on DTRS, so if someone programs it in a radio somewhere and turns it on, it will show up on the affiliated tower.

Metro Net has been consistently on the Glendale DTRS site again starting yesterday morning; don't know why or the wherefore but it sure sounds better than listening to everything patched to an analog system.
Any ideas or theories welcome---;)

Given the sites you have mentioned that it has been on, it seems that someone down in the south metro. area has a radio on it for whatever reason. Just like any other radio, it will probably roam as it moves around, or if it's a fixed radio, as it decides one site is better than the others.

I hope it is something like Glendale PD's dispatch center and it stays on forever---
