4/6- roughly 6:15 PM. KC-130J OTIS28 (MCAS Cherry Point) did pattern work at KBTL. Heard tower side on 126.825, assuming tower was multiselected on UHF as well. (No Milair capabilities in the car.) luckily I had just left the grocery store to the south of BTL, got a *NICE* visual of OTIS28 taking off from Rwy 5L and making his turn into the pattern again.

Tower kicked him out on the next touch and go due to congestion. BTL had several waiting to take off and for full stop landings to WMU & Duncan aviation.

During night training last night I heard something very interesting. Pilot said he saw something “very weird” along side him out of the corner of his eye. His partner replied that another pilot had the same thing happen during takeoff a couple days ago. He then replied that it was scary enough “way up here” and couldn’t imagine that happening during take off and again said “very, very weird”. His partner said he could go chase it if he wanted to and he replied that he “didn’t want to get yelled at”. Sorry I wasn’t recording and don’t have audio proof, just have to take my word for it.

If anyone was recording last night 4/15 around 8-9pm you should review your recordings. These kind of foo fighter reports seem to be fairly common these days and I‘ve been wondering if I would ever hear one. The pilots demeanor was the most interesting part. Affected pilot sounded a bit shaken, his partner seemed amused and was acting like it‘s a common occurrence.
