I'm working on a mobile installation of a Yaesu FT-100. This will include remote mounting the radio in the back of the car, with the controls at the front.

I have the remote mount cable for the head of the radio. However, I don't have an extension for the microphone cable, which is a pretty conventional 6 conductor modular cable (6P6C).

I would like to find an RJ-12 "extension cord" for the microphone plug, and ideally, I would like the male end (where the microphone will plug in) to have some way of being mounted to the surface of my car. Can anyone suggest such an extension cable? I actually have an mic extension cable (off an old Kenwood TM-742) that would be perfect, except that it's 8P8C.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I think you have two options, find the correct cable, or make one. I have no idea about finding a premade cable, but making/modifying one is certainly possible. Making a cable may not be all that easy because of the type of connectors used (I hate those @#$ 'RJ' connectors, don't have the tools to mess with them).
Got some eight conductor cable? Disregard the two 'extra' ones, or 'double' them with some other conductor.
Lots of possibilities...
