Not sure why Site 28 seems to be sending a network map for 12 hours every Thursday morning whilst any other sites I (or you) can hear aren't.

The one guy who could get a network map (and who probably has gotten a network map) is Joe (Voyager). But I haven't seen him on the forums in quite a while.

Site 28 was still broadcasting a network map as of 9:45 AM this morning.

For anybody ever trying to fetch a network map, keep in mind that not only is a Fast Lane version of DSDPlus needed, but it has to be a version that supports collecting the network map. Early/old versions of Fast Lane do not support the identification or collection of a network map.

And also one has to keep in mind that the network map isn't always broadcast on the control channel. Sometimes it's on a different channel . If you are monitoring a control channel and a repeater map is being broadcast, it will tell you which channel the repeater map is being broadcast on. Then you will need to tune to that channel. NOTE: channel does not equal LCN. If it says the map is being broadcast on channel 5, for instance, that's LCN 3 that you would actually have to tune to in order to collect the network map.

Somebody (whose name I won't mention - he can chime in if he wishes) is currently grabbing raw audio off of Site 28. Thus far he grabbed 180 MB of raw audio while a network map was being broadcast, but DSDPlus never spit out the file. So either site 28 is broken (could be) and sending out a garbage network map, or enough audio wasn't obtained.

he may be still trying. We'll see how it goes .

I think a Triangle tech is toying with this threads followers! :D

In this case, probably a Centre tech. I agree though. I just didn't want to say it / think it. But if we don't get a good decode on this, I'm going to have to agree with you :)

After all, no other site appears to be sending a network map other than Site 28. Pretty odd. Every time i've seen a network map being sent, it's been across every site I could pick up - which made me believe they were always system-wide.

OK, I had the chance today to bring the SDS with me while working in Dickson City & Scranton - that new site referenced on the license WRBZ805 is still not on the air yet.

I searched from 451-465 & found no new sites for this system, nor Industrial Communications. I did find some more new TG's for Industrial, but that's a discussion for their thread...

I think Welden went under :poop: and the pipeline work is winding down in the region.. They were a/the primary contractor..

Site 47 Hazleton (both in the network repeater map and in the DB) looks a bit odd -- specifically LCNs 6/8. Me thinketh the network map data, when entered in by the radio admin at MADRN, was botched (or <tin foil hat on> purposefully polluted). I don't how see how that scenario could play out well if indeed both of those LCNs are active.

LCN 6 454.55
LCN 8 454.55

If the site controller was actually programmed like that, there would be issues any time LCN 6 and LCN 8 were active at the same time.

A friend (who is on these forums and may reply/confirm himself) has determined that Site 33 (454.29375 CC) is online. He suspects it might be Ogletown and plans a road trip sometime in the future to find out. So it won't be going in the DB yet. But Brent (if he wishes) can mark it in the Wiki as being online.

So we have Site 31 (unknown) and Site 33 (unknown) confirmed online with Site 35 (unknown) also likely being online based upon at least one other site reporting Site 33 as a neighbor. These are all likely in CentreComm territory, in or west of Ickesburg and in/south of Sigel / Renova.

It has been reported to me that Site 42 (Ebensburg / Pendleton) was checked and does not appear to be online yet.
