Midland 1001z CB Radio !!

I just bought a Midland 1001z CB radio. i bought this radio from radio shack and on the website it said that it had channel scan , i cant seem to figure out how to make it channel scan. its not in any manuals for it. does any body have this radio and know how to make it channel scan ??

Maybe I'm missing it, but it doesn't say anywhere on the RatShack's website that this has channel scan...

I've owned one before, NO it does not have channel scan.

You have to look under the technical Specs Page of the item on the website , its closer to the bottom of the specs list.

To get the radio to scan you have to order the radio with the Small Asian Child option, which includes a small boy or girl with a month's worth of food that comes pretrained to push the channel up button until they hear something. I'm not sure if your radio came with the child, to check you can look at the size of the box. If the box is not much bigger than the radio than you dont have it. But if the box is large and there still appeared to have been something heavy in it after you took the radio out than you might have the scanning feature.

Funny.... That was kinda mean though

Radio shack has a issue with getting the tech specs WRONG, one time it said the desktop scanner 2018 would do 800mhz ...hahaha

Well the radio actually did come in a very large box , but i didnt stop to check it for the small child after i removed the radio, Consequently ive already burned the box. i better check it for any leftovers... although aside from that the radio actually will scan if the channel knob is set inbetween two normal positions, figured this out on my own after a few hours of determination that it had to scan or else it was going to get shot.
